The string musicians of Malaga and province have a date on Sunday 1 December at 12:30 in the afternoon on the Plaza de la Constitución to raise awareness of the importance of musical culture, the number of people engaged in this field and the support required from institutions and the public in order to continue to grow and contribute to the greater education and development of a city.

For all these reasons the Malaga Music Foundation has organised this gathering, for which close on 200 people have already registered, together with their stringed instruments: violin, viola, double bass, guitar… all with the huge enthusiasm of forming part of a positive and optimistic clarion call, emphasising the power of music in every sphere of society.

All those wishing to take part should register on the Foundation’s website and download the score of the musical work which they will all be playing in unison, under the baton of orchestral conductor Javier Claudio Portales.

Two children from the Promúsica Youth Orchestra will then read out a manifesto in support of music, which we here enclose.

The Malaga Music Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded in 2006 in response to the desire of a number of public and private organisations to support and promote the knowledge and showcasing classical and/or erudite music in its various forms. The Malaga Music Foundation currently comprises six patrons: Malaga City Council, Galería Benedito, Promociones Braser, IELCO, Grupo Mayoral and  Grupo Vera.
